Quit Smoking

Cigarette smoking is a highly addictive habit that has significantly fallen out of social favour during the past ten years; likewise the quit smoking trend has soared higher and higher and the acceptance of hypnosis to quit has equally sky-rocketed. Everybody in the world now knows of the dangers of smoking. It is common knowledge that smoking is the single worst thing you can do for your health. We now know that smoking delivers 2,000 artificial chemicals into the body; around thirty of those chemicals are known carcinogens and many are lethal poisons. Nicotine and tar, we are aware of, but what of the others? Arsenic is present in tobacco smoke, as is also cyanide, ammonia, benzo-pyrene, carbon monoxide, prussic acid and added to this are the insecticides and chemical fertilisers sprayed on the tobacco crops. Can you believe it: arsenic and cyanide, both of which instantly recognisable as extremely poisonous substances to humans. Nicotine is one of the most poisonous substances known to man, there is enough in just one cigarette to kill a person in seconds, if extracted and injected hypodermically into a vein. There is even enough in that one cigarette to kill a horse! All these chemicals and many more are present in cigarettes and other tobacco products and are absorbed into and pollute the tissues of a smoker’s body. Incredibly these and other scary facts just aren’t enough motivation for smokers to stop smoking and research even suggests that smoking may produce anxiety symptoms in people, making them more likely to develop disorders like panic attacks. The people who quit the easiest and most effectively and I might add, there are millions of them, every day, are those who have made a commitment to themselves, for themselves, to put in the effort it usually takes to be rid of the habit. These people have made a personal commitment to themselves that they are 100% ready to quit and they are prepared to put in whatever effort is necessary. To Quit to save money, or for your partner or children, means you may have little genuine personal commitment to quitting smoking and so you will much more likely slip back at the first challenging situation that presents itself. There is no slowly going off cigarettes, or cutting back. You are either a smoker or a non-smoker. Any wavering in your commitment allows you that chink in your armour, and when that happens, there is every chance you are going to fail very quickly. There are many ways to attempt to quit smoking, nicotine replacement therapy, including patches, gum, inhalers, pharmaceutical drugs and of course good old fashion will power. All of these methods are reinforced greatly by the use of hypnosis, and in many cases hypnosis alone is probably a much more effective therapy than all of the other known treatments. In fact it has been scientifically demonstrated that the most effective way to quit smoking is to employ correctly applied hypnosis. Hypnosis is not a magic cure and there may be times when you may feel like a cigarette, and that this is only a feeling, a feeling that will soon pass, and one that you do not have to act upon. If it were just down to common sense and public information you would have stopped ages ago. To stay stopped, you need to feel differently about smoking. That’s what hypnosis is good for.
