Hypnosis for general health

Vitruvian ManHypnosis has been used to assist in many health changes. In saying this, we are not advocating the cessation of any medical treatment in preference for hypnotherapeutic interventions, we are simply providing information about how hypnosis can assist, as part of a medical approach in certain health conditions. You can find out more about Thinkshift hypnosis in the research section of this website. The following is merely a snippet of how hypnosis may be able to assist you:

Allergies:
Many allergic reactions are associated with stress. Urticaria (commonly referred to as hives, is a kind of skin rash notable for pale red, raised, itchy bumps) can be precipitated by traumatic life situations. Suggestions via hypnosis can be very effective to de-sensitize people to situations whereby previously would have created an issue.

Cardiac Disorders:
Arrhythmias, Effort Syndrome and Palpitations, can all be produced through the spotaneous recall of traumatic memories. Deconditioning, consisting of pleasant associations under hypnosis often can relieve functional chest pain and associated symptoms in tense and anxious clients. NOTE: if you experience any chest pains – you must seek the opinion of your GP or Medical Practitioner.

Coronary Disease:
Stress is a major contributing factor to heart disease. Extreme mental anguish by the production of hyperventilation, interferes with blood oxygen tensions and leads to potential coronary issues, once again hypnosis can assist in reducing stress levels, increases relaxation states and calming the body. NOTE: if you experience any chest pains – you must seek the opinion of your GP or Medical Practitioner.

Digestive Disorders:
Ulcers, colitis, ulcerated colitis, emotional diarrhoea, constipation, Research has indicated that our thoughts and emotions can influence and produce spasms in the gastro-intestinal tract. The inability to recognise and subsequently treat these influences is a major factor as to why gastro-intestinal isues are frequently not resolved. When clients are more relaxed around thoughts and emotions, some relief from gastro-intstinatl issues can prevail and hypnosis is a powerful way inwhich to unravel those thought and emotional based issues.

Eating Disorders:
Anorexia Nervosa – chief symptoms are loss of apetite and weight. It is typically highly-strung individuals who develop this disorder. Hypnosis has been successfully used to maintain relaxation levels and post hypnotic suggestions have been used to increase appetite and plesant feelings assocated with food.

Hypertension:
In essential hypertension, stress due to chronic and inhibited rage is considered one important factor. Symptoms are manifesting sympathetico-adrenal, salt retaining, blood pressure rising responses. Relaxation and stress reducing solutions, such as hypnotic relaxation can assist greatly.
